To get an A2 CofC qualification you will have to learn a number of Online Modules, self-certify that you have completed enough flying with your drone and complete a 30 question examination
To get the ICARUS A2 CofC qualification, you will first have to complete the ICARUS A2 Online Learning which will be delivered as a series of Videos delivered by Matt Williams (Mr MPW).
These modules will cover:
- Air Law - The Open Category
- The aim of the Air Law module of the ICARUS™ A2 Theory Course is to introduce, reinforce and develop the candidate’s understanding of the relevant rules and regulations to fly within the Open Category.
- Meteorology
- The aim of the Meteorology module of the ICARUS™ A2 Theory Course is to introduce, reinforce and develop the candidate’s understanding of the types of weather and effects of weather upon their person and platform.
- Flight Performance
- The aim of the Flight Performance module of the ICARUS™ A2 Theory Course is to introduce, reinforce and develop the candidate’s understanding of the relevant Principles of Flight, which may affect any aerial platforms, which they may utilise and associated technologies.
- Operating Principles
- The aim of the Operating Principles module of the ICARUS™ A2 Theory Course is to introduce, reinforce and develop the candidate’s understanding of Operating Principles in aviation and our understanding of the effects on safety performance.
Once you have completed the relevant learning, you will be required to sit a 30 question examination online of which you will have 75 minutes to complete. This examination is done remotely so you can do the examination from the comfort of your own home!
Prior to attending the theory examination for the ICARUS A2 CofC, you will be required to self-declare that you completed a period of practical flight training, either under the guidance of UAVHub or under ‘self-monitored’ circumstances.
